IT - Email and Zip Attachment Changes

Posted Friday 26th February 2016 11:51

As you may remember, early last year we decided to protect our customers (those on our hosted exchange service) by blocking all emails sent with .zip attachments, as there was a sudden surge of fake and infected emails using zip files hitting our networks.

This issue has now calmed down, and we have decided to lift the block from the 1st March 2016.

Of course we still recommend that all customers always take care when opening emails with attachments, especially if not expecting the email or from an unknown contact.

Any customers who have not yet taken out our hosted spam scanner option powered by Barracuda, we recommend you contact the office for more information; with this product you will be able to configure your own blocking and company restrictions to your specific needs amongst many other features.

Thanks from the Ahead4 Team
