Upon lifting the top loader of the printer, place the document face down on the flatbed scanner.

Additionally, ensure the document is flush with the top left corner of the scan area, this is usually marked with an arrow.

Please Note: if there is content on either side of the document you will need to repeat these steps for the reverse side.

Your document should resemble something like this.

Once happy with the position of the document, close the top section down. Do this slow-ish, as doing it quickly can force air under the document and cause it to move slightly.

You'll likely have the default screen "Copy" presented to you, however, you want the scan screen.

Locate the button in the middle titled "Fax/Scan".

Ensure this is selected before continuing.

After pressing the middle button titled "Fax/Scan" you should find a scans folder, this folder is where you'll want to send the scanned document to.

Ensure this is selected by tapping on the screen, it should now be highlighted, from here you can adjust the scan settings if you want.

In scan settings, you can tell it how detailed you want the copy, colour, sharpness etc.

Once happy, simply press the large blue start button on the keypad.

Wait under the scanner falls silent before lifting the lid to remove the document or scan the reverse side if required.

At your computer locate the Scans folder and open it.

The files inside will be ordered by date/time; find the one most applicable to you.

Open it up to find your scanned document. At this stage you may wish to rotate the file, you can do this in Adobe Reader by either pressing Ctrl + Shift + Plus or View and rotate.

Place the document face up in the scanning tray, you can place more than one document in here for batch jobs too.
